Has anyone here regretted hiring a personal injury lawyer in California?

Genuine question – I always hear ads and see billboards about “we’ll get you the biggest settlement” and stuff like that but I’m curious what it’s actually like in real life.

For anyone in California who’s gone through it,

Did you feel like it was actually worth it in the end?
How did fees and medical costs shake out, like did it end up being what you expected?
