I was involved in a car accident on Saturday. Before any police arrived on scene the driver of the vehicle that hit me told me that he did not see me at all and asked where I was. When I told him where I was his response was “Oh, I did not see you there you weren’t behind the black SUV”. It should be noted that there were zero cars in front of me and that the black SUV that he says he saw was actually the vehicle behind me. I got the police report today and it seems I may have made a huge mistake and I’m unsure what to do. I told him before the police arrived what happened right down to where I was and that I had made a lane change before the intersection this seems to be repeated word by word by the driver of the other vehicle and he seems to have left out that he did not see me. My statement in the police report does state that the driver of the other vehicle came up to me directly after the accident and told me that he did not see me and asked if I was behind the black SUV and that the black SUV was the vehicle behind me.

My question is this is it worth it to bring this up to my claims agent? I was hit going through an intersection and he hit my bumper as he was attempting to make a left hand turn. I felt bad since he was younger and didn’t think he would lie about not seeing me.

Other driver lied in the police report
