First time posting here, but I've gotten a lot of information from this community so I thought I could help provide information in return. Not quite sure if I'm formatting this right, though.

    Credit Profile:

    – Transunion 762*
    – Equifax 761*
    – Experian 772**

    * According to CreditKarma.
    ** According to AmEx.

Depending on which of my apps I looked at/when they last updated there was some variation, but all my scores ranged between 741 to 772.

    Cards:

    • CapitalOne REI Co-Op Mastercard (Feb 2021, 12.5k)
    • Digital FCU Cash Rewards Visa (Feb 2022, 10k)
    • CapitalOne Quicksilver Mastercard (Aug 2022, 15k)
    • AmEx Blue Cash Everyday (Oct 2024, 3k)
    • Discover It Chrome (Oct 2024, 9k)

    Financial Situation:

    Income: ~24k annual
    Rent: ~$100/month
No late or missed payments on record.
I do have half a dozen loans from college (2016~2020), totaling ~24k out of an original… either 33k or 36k, I believe.

    Balances:

    • ~$300 on the Quicksilver***
    • ~$700 on the AmEx***
    • ~4k on the Discover

*** I actually paid these off before putting in the application, but given that they were within an hour or so I assume that my balances wouldn't have updated in time for the credit check.

Any other cards are either paid off or have some small amount on them that my autopayments will clear.

My goal with this Chase application was to balance transfer the 4k on Discover to something with a decent 0% BT APR (15 months) while I keep paying it down, but that would still have new benefits for afterwards.

My current cards don't have 3% for drugstores, so between that and it having a longer BT offer than my current cards are offering, I thought it would be a decent addition.

Chase Freedom Unlimited BT & CL:

I applied earlier today (checked pre-approval and then continued with the application after getting a positive response), asking for a 3.9k balance transfer onto it.

I was asked to do a quick identity verification on my phone – I don't know if that's par for the norm with Chase or not, but it was a very quick scan of my state ID using my phone and then I received immediate approval and a 4.8k credit line.

I haven't gotten explicit confirmation yet about the BT (I didn't have a Chase account before this and haven't had a chance to go futz with it) but I don't see anything that gives me cause for concern at the moment.

I was a little worried that my initial application might come back with a low CL – I had that happen previously with my AmEx, which started at 1k for me – so I'm rather happy with this! It's pretty much exactly what I was hoping for. Fingers crossed for anyone else in a similar spot 🤞
