In #Europe, energy costs are two to three times higher than those faced by competitors in the #UnitedStates and #China. At the same time, the continent remains firmly — and increasingly — in the grip of a climate crisis.
As some nations step back from climate commitments, others must step forward. There is no room for backtracking, only fast‑tracking. Unlike other crises — where peace may hopefully return, geopolitical tensions may ease, and energy prices may stabilise — climate change will not fade. In ten years, we may resolve conflicts and restore competitiveness, but the climate challenge will still be with us. And unless action accelerates, it will be worse. Much worse.
