Wanted to give some people my age who see all the insanity of tech and finance bros a realistic outlook on a strangers net worth who simply works hard and doesn’t have a fake job. 31M with an accounting degree. Worked in O&G industry for 6 years, now in live entertainment. Started my career at 42K in 2019 as a DoD contractor. Moved west in 2020. Made 70-75K from 2020-2024. Then bumped to 105K, and now at 120K as of 01/2026 at a new job. Goal is to retire at 55ish with 3-4 million invested allowing for a comfortable retirement with a six figure income still. I very much benefit from having a decent income and expenses only being 60% of that, with a generous amount of disposable income in my variable expenses still.

    Net Pay – 7K

    Fixed+Variable monthly expense – 4K

Investing 2.5-3K a month except when I decide to take big trips about twice a year. I estimate 25K a year after 2 international trips a year on average.

Cash – 50K (Will probably reduce this to 30-40K in the near future)

    Roth – 12K (late bloomer 😬😭)

    Individual Brokerage – 80K

    401K (2 of em) – 47K

Owe 10K on my car (at 4% interest). Car is worth probably 20-25K.

    Net Worth – Roughly 190K
