Hi there, I'm launching a cloud-based Novel Writing Software.

I have all the Points-of-Parity + 2 exclusive features. So I'm trying to position myself as a premium option. My main direct competitor is Dabble Writer, which has a slightly different pricing strategy.

    TL;DR:

    Dabble Writer pricing:

3 plans: Basic / Standard / Premium (Premium has all features of Standard + a few more; Standard has all features of Basic + a few more, etc…)

    Dabble Writer pricing is currently:

    Basic Plan

    • Monthly: $9 per month
    • Yearly: $7 per month (billed as $84 yearly)

    Standard Plan

    • Monthly: $19 per month
    • Yearly: $15 per month (billed as $180 yearly)

    Premium Plan

    • Monthly: $29 per month
    • Yearly: $23 per month (billed as $276 yearly)

    Lifetime License

    • One-time payment: $699 (includes all future updates and premium features)

    .

    My pricing:

    All plans have all features.

    • Free-trial: Free for 30 days
    • Monthly: ?
    • Yearly: ?
    • (No lifetime license)

As I said, I want to position myself as a premium option. I have several other competitors, but they are way cheaper with way less features.

My thinking is to price myself as follows:

    Option 1:

    • Free-trial: Free for 30 days
    • Monthly: $29 <– (same as Dabble's Premium monthly plan)
    • Yearly: $19 (save 34%) <– (same as Dabble's Standard monthly plan)
    • (Still, no lifetime license)

I have everything Dabble's Premium Plan offers + 2 exclusive features + great branded content marketing.

I think that positions me as premium, as one of, if not The most expensive option.

That said, I'm new in the market. I don't want to differentiate myself by being the cheaper option; However, I don't have the reputation or time in the market like my competitors.

All other competitors are cheaper, but have way less features. Dabble is way closer to me, although I have a couple more features.

What do you think? Is the price I've mentioned working? If not, I had this other idea:

    Option 2:

    • Free-trial: Free for 30 days
    • Monthly: $19 <– (same as Dabble's Standard monthly plan)
    • Yearly: $15 (save 20%) <– (same as Dabble's Standard yearly plan)
    • (Still, no lifetime license)

    Or maybe:

    Option 3:

    • Free-trial: Free for 30 days
    • Monthly: $19
    • Yearly: $12 (save 36%)
    • (No lifetime license)

Keep in mind that all my plans have the same features as Dabble's Premium plan + 2 exclusive ones.

Any feedback? What do you think?

Need feedback for my pricing plans
