Been going down a rabbit hole on seed phrase backup methods and stumbled across some interesting options beyond the usual steel plate or paper wallet approaches.

Apparently there are smartcard devices and even NFC rings that can store your mnemonic backup encrypted. The idea being you tap it to retrieve your seed phrase when needed, rather than digging out a metal plate from a fireproof safe.

My gut reaction was 'that sounds risky' but then again, paper degrades, metal plates are bulky, and most people's seed phrase security is… a sticky note somewhere.

For those who've thought seriously about how to store a seed phrase long-term: do you think the convenience of NFC-based backup is worth the tradeoffs? Or does physical, offline, non-electronic storage always win?

Curious what methods people here actually use day-to-day.

Storing your seed phrase on a smartcard or NFC ring. Gimmick or actually useful?
