I'm not sure if there's anything anyone can do to help but I'll just throw this out there. I also don't know much about how crypto works so please bear with me if I say things that don't make sense.

Sometime around 2014 I bought US$60 in BTC from a Bitcoin ATM. I believe that went to a Blockchain account, and then from there I moved it to a Mycelium wallet on my android phone, because someone back then told me that that was the most secure place to put my BTC since I didn't plan on spending it.

Unfortunately, I lost the 18-word mnemonic for the account… until now. Earlier today I found the scrap of paper where I wrote down the 18-word mnemonic as well as an "identifier" which is a 36-character hexadecimal string. I also found the old HTC Desire smartphone that I was using at the time when I bought the coins at the ATM.

I installed the Mycelium app on my current phone, but when I use the recover feature, it doesn't accept the first word of my mnemonic. I tried going to Blockchain.com and selecting "import wallet" and it also says the phrase is invalid as soon as I type in the first word.

I haven't yet tried to turn on the old HTC phone. I'd have to try charging it first.

Is there something I can do?

    Help recovering old bitcoins?
