New card possible travel rewards

So i currently have a CC through capital one, the rewards i get are for Cabelas/Bass Pro. The only reason I ever shop there anymore is solely because I get a few hundred dollars in rewards every year. So I would like to get something thats maybe more geared towards travel rewards or cash back. Every year a friend and I take a trip to Las Vegas. So I figured if I got travel rewards I could essentially heavily discount or take the trip for free for the most part.

Main thing is im not a big fan of getting a second CC. And I dont want to close the card because its my oldest account at 12years. $24,000 limit. And my score is 800.

1. What card would you recommend?

2. Can I ask for my credit limit to be lowered on my cabelas card and increase the new card?

3. Should I just get a second card and then put the old one in a drawer and not use it so it dont loose my oldest account?
