I’m trying to better understand the more “technical” drivers behind sudden market moves.
I’m already familiar with things like month-end fixing, CTA positioning/flows, and options expirations (OPEX), but I feel like there are other factors that can also cause sharp rallies or selloffs.
What are some other technical or flow-driven reasons markets can move quickly? For example, things related to dealer positioning, liquidity, rebalancing, or anything similar.
Would appreciate insights or examples from people who follow this closely.
What technical factors (besides month-end fixing, CTA flows, and options expiry) can move the market sharply?
