hello everyone. I have been reading this student loans reddit sub page for 10 years. I had over 240K student debt from physical therapy school. In 2019, I started a cash physical therapy business out of school. Everyone told me don’t do it aside from my girlfriend (now wife) and family. I was able to build a business during covid due to low gross income and no payments during covid. I had over 30K private loans my dad never told me about. This ballooned to 50K at 14.5 percent interest. Total my student loans were 168K federal. I had no help from family. Covid PPP loan helped me buy a house. Kept stacking business assets. In 2024 paid 50K lump sum. October of 2025 I paid 90K. Today I am putting 100K payment to put final nail in coffin. Over the last 7 years I had immense stress. My faith in God and family is the only reason I am here today. For anyone out there who needs hope it can be done. Thank you for this group for the last 10 years giving me hope and reading and learning from others. I pray God gives others hope through this. I will always cherish this group my entire life. I now teach a business and personal finance class to physical therapists and will give back to the next generation. Praise God and thank you to all who helped me get here.
