27M from Pune. Married couple with joint in-hand income of around ₹1.8L/month.

Need honest financial advice regarding buying a car in the ₹11L–₹15L range.

    Current situation:

    – Home loan EMI: ₹39k/month

    – Another outstanding loan: ~₹11.5L at 12% interest

    – Paying around ₹30k–₹50k/month towards it depending on month

    – Total EMI outflow currently around ₹65k–₹90k depending on prepayment

    – Emergency/liquid funds: ~1 lakh

    -SIPs corpus 1 lakh

I really want a car mainly for:

    – family travel

    – long drives to hometown in Konkan

    – freedom/flexibility

    – learning and gaining confidence in driving

Cars I like are in the Kia Seltos segment preferably clutchless/manual automatic type.

Emotionally I feel like I should enjoy life now instead of postponing everything endlessly, but financially I’m confused whether:

    1. I should buy now

    2. Wait till high-interest loan reduces more

    3. Buy cheaper/used first

    4. Or reduce expectations completely

How do people realistically plan a ₹11L–₹15L car purchase with existing EMIs?

Would appreciate practical advice from people who bought cars while balancing loans/family responsibilities.

Also 12% loan I am planning to transfer it from a cooperative bank from my village to a lower interest option.

How to plan buying a car ?
