So I am going to UC Santa Cruz in the fall as an environmental economics major and I am hearing a lot of mixed reviews on how good the job market is for people with economics majors. I heard that it is important to combine it with another focus hence the environment aspect. But at the same time I am worried that with our current political climate there will not be jobs in the sustainability field. It is something I truly believe in and want to protect so it is kind of sad seeing Trump’s deregulation take place.

Basically my question is what kind of jobs will there be for my specific field and if there isn’t anything related to the environment, what kind of jobs will I be able to find with my economics skills??

Oh! Also, I welcome any tips from people who studied economics in college, I want to prepare myself over the summer the best I can because I am not the best at math, the only advanced math I have under my belt is AP Statistics but I wouldn’t say I mastered it or truly understood it at all because my school doesn’t have the best teacher and I’m definitely a victim of senioritis.

I appreciate any and all feedback!!!!

Is an environmental Econ major valuable?
