300k in government loans with interest. I have no idea how to prepare.

Yes, it is a lot. Yes I was young and and didn’t understand finances at the time, and wanted to go to the schools I wanted to go to, and my family was largely checked out so I thought it didn’t matter. These were for undergrad and two masters. I’m in a PhD program now so currently deferred, but academia will probably not be high paying enough for this. I’m in the humanities, so am unsure if there are even government job options for me. I’m a wreck- I feel like my life is over because I made horrible choices I didn’t understand in my teens and early twenties. What can I even do?
