Built a real-time Bitcoin network globe — watch every block propagate from pools to nodes

Wanted to actually *see* the network breathe instead of refreshing mempool.space tabs, so I built this.

When a pool mines a block, rays fire from that pool's location outward to every full node tracked (~120 visible). Last-30-blocks pool share updates live, so the centralization story is visceral rather than just numbers.

**What's shown**

– Live block propagation (mempool.space WS)

– Pool locations + last-30 share (Foundry, MARA, AntPool, ViaBTC, etc.)

– Full nodes by country (Bitnodes)

– Time since last block — turns red past 10 min avg

– Halving countdown — block 1,050,000, ~April 2028, next reward 1.5625 BTC

– Median fee sat/vB sparkline (last 30 blocks)

– Click any block in the feed → full metadata + mempool.space explorer link

– Click any pool/node on the globe → tooltip with details

All public free data — no auth, no signup, no ads, no tracking. Not affiliated with mempool.space or Bitnodes; just consuming their open data.

Personal side project, not a service.

Desktop is intended view; mobile works (cards stack vertically) but less immersive.
