Filed my LLC last month thinking the hard part was done. Business formation itself? Took maybe 12 minutes online. Got the certificate, felt proud and moved on. Then I realized my little remote consulting thing might count as doing business in a couple other states because of where my clients are. Now Im looking at registered agent rules in three different places depending on how economic nexus applies. Honestly didnt see this coming. All those formation services advertise the filing speed but nobody maps out the year-two compliance stuff unless you dig.
Anyone else get blindsided by multi-state obligations after forming? Or am I overthinking this for a small operation?
