Life Insurance selling (advice)

I recently got a position with an independent brokerage, Is it normal for them to want you to recruit people on top of your sales? Thats also how you get promoted and you can make some passive income. It’s also kind of like a “we’ll help you generate your own leads via networking” situation. Im pretty young so I kind of just wanted to see if I could get some extra money and experience.

Was just wondering if its kinda pyramid scheme-ish or worth doing
