“Let’s make sure it’s you” When applying for a chase credit card any way to avoid using a branch?

Just tried to apply for a chase sapphire reserve. I have had chase credit cards for 6 years about. Use them regularly, spend regularly. Today for the first time I got a screen asking me to verify who I am.

I used the QR code and it asks for a state ID or driver license. My driver license has expired a long while ago and I don't have a state ID. Is there any way to contact them so that I can send my passport?

While I used to live in the US. I currently live abroad and only return once every year or so so visiting a branch is not super convenient.
