Another move against Putin! The EU found the solution, an agreement was reached…

US President Joe Biden met with European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen in Brussels today. After the bilateral meeting, Biden announced the new move to be taken against Putin and said, “The United States has made an agreement with the EU to rapidly reduce the European Union’s dependence on Russian gas.”

The USA and the European Union (EU) signed a supply agreement of at least 15 billion cubic meters of liquefied natural gas until the end of 2022 to reduce the energy dependence of European countries from Russia and to meet their natural gas needs. According to the agreement, which aims to reduce Europe’s dependence on Russia, which meets 40 percent of its energy needs, EU member states will work with the United States to meet 50 billion cubic meters of liquefied natural gas demand from the United States by 2030.

According to the energy cooperation plans of the USA and the EU, it is also planned to eliminate the EU’s dependence on Russian fossil fuels by 2027.

AGREEMENT WITH EU TO REDUCE DEPENDENCE ON RUSSIAN GAS

US President Joe Biden, who met with European Commission President Ursula Von Der Leyen within the framework of his Brussels contacts and announced the agreement, said, “Putin uses Russia’s energy resources to coerce and manipulate his neighbors. We should not subsidize Putin’s brutal attack on Ukraine. “The US, which is an energy exporter and has a strong domestic industry, made an agreement with the EU to quickly reduce its dependence on Russian gas,” he said. “This initiative focuses on two key issues. First, to help Europe reduce its dependence on Russian gas as quickly as possible, and second, to reduce Europe’s gas demand in general,” Biden said.

WE AIM TO REDUCE AND GET LIBERTED DEPENDENCE ON RUSSIAN FOSSIL FUEL

Ursula Von Der Leyen, President of the European Commission, said: “The additional natural gas supply agreement from the USA for the European Union will replace the Russian natural gas we have used so far. This means that the USA will provide at least 15 billion cubic meters of LNG to the EU this year. “This commitment is a big step in that direction. We aim to reduce and get rid of this dependence on Russian fossil fuels,” he said.

    GOING TO CLEAN ENERGY SOURCES

In the joint statement on European Energy Security, which details the natural gas agreement reached between the European Commission and the USA, “The USA and the European Commission are determined to reduce Europe’s dependence on Russian energy. We are committed to Europe’s energy security and sustainability, to accelerate the global transition to clean energy. “We express our solidarity and support for Ukraine, condemning in the strongest terms the further Russian invasion of Ukraine,” the statement said. “Through the Joint European action for more affordable, secure and sustainable energy (REPowerEU), the EU reaffirmed its goal of achieving independence from Russian fossil fuels in less than 10 years and replaced them with stable, affordable, reli
