This probably doesn’t qualify but the thought popped into my mind. I went to NYU and from my second semester sophomore year through first semester senior year, it was zoom university because of the pandemic. Now, I got my degree in film + television, where the main appeal was being able to have access to cameras, equipment, studios, etc. We were all sent home and had to make movies with the equipment we already had (in my case, since I was a scholarship kid, all I had was my phone). NYU raised our tuition during this time, which meant taking out more loans to cover the portion that wasn’t covered from my scholarship.
Would I qualify for borrower defense given that I went to school for film, and tuition was raised even though I had no access to facilities, equipment, etc? Again, probably not, but I was curious.
Borrower Defense – Qualifies?
