Are federal student loans considered taxable income?

Let’s say your FAFSA covers tuition and fees and you get a few thousand back that you use for food, living expenses, etc. Do you need to report it for taxes?

Edit: I went to school like 6 years ago and I never reported as income. I’m worried that this was a crime
