Oil prices plunge as Iran and U.S. ease tensions

Oil prices plunged nearly five percent to under 60 U.S. dollars on Wednesday, reversing a spike that followed Iranian missile attacks on American military bases in Iraq. Brent futures nursed overnight losses of four percent to sit at 65 U.S. dollars per barrel, near the lowest since mid-December. The declines came as comments by Iranian officials and U.S. President Donald Trump eased tensions in the region.
