This blockchain 101 discussion explores whether there is a difference between coins and tokens. If Bitcoin is traded as a currency as it was initially envisioned, you would consider it a coin. Traditionally we think of Bitcoin as a coin, after all, it is in the name. Then are tokens any different? If they also represent value, then how are they different than coins?
