As Russia steadily strangles energy supply lines, wholesale prices are being pushed even higher.
Critics say it is retaliation for the West’s support of Ukraine and the effects are being felt in the UK and beyond.
The latest predictions estimate the UK’s energy price cap will increase by 77% in October. It is expected to rise even further in January.
Money Saving Expert Martin Lewis said the impact of the price hike is “frankly catastrophic” as he urged the government to intervene now.
