Amazon was created in 1994 by case investigator Jeff Bezos, based on Amazon in his Bellevue, Washington garage on July 5, 1994, as Cadabra,Inc. software, video games, clothing, furniture, food, toys and jewelry. Also in 1994, Microsoft was named Amazon. In 2015, Amazon surpassed Walmart as the most valuable retailer in the US by market cap, and the site launched in 1995. The firm was named after the Amazon River, the world’s deepest river.
