I have no idea what all of those spikes at the end are even suppose to mean… I lost track of the BTC analysis when the video started visually showing the CO2 emissions.
Having a verifiably sound money for people anywhere at anytime i’d argue is worth the energy usage and a lot of mining is actually providing newer ways to monetise energy in places that have always been uneconomic to build out… Read more about how these newer sites are being built out…A lot of videos about how BTC is mined is propaganda.

Electricity is sold on the open market by companies to btc miners. What they do with is up to them. How does it compare with legacy banking networks, buildings, staff, etc….
Bitcoin uses significant amounts of energy in order to make it so prohibitively expensive for any 1 entity to take over the network. It's energy use is what keeps it neutral. It's neutrality is what keeps it from manipulation and debasement.
Every other monetary network is subject to political forces.

Now do the petrodollar. You won’t of course. Because doing so will show a x1000 increase in CO2 emissions compared to Bitcoin which doesn’t suit your agenda.
Bitcoin mostly uses ‘stranded energy’ and it actually supports the building of new sustainable energy infrastructure as it provides a base-load customer which can be switched on/off anytime.
It's the cost of securing a $400bn global distributed payment network.
If you're upset that people are burning coal, deal with it at the powerplant level. It's not a bitcoin issue.

So how much energy is worth consuming to have Bitcoin then. Is just one single joule of energy too wasteful? Or how about equivalent to run Christmas lights in a small European country? Or all the energy used to run computers in Canary Wharf?
Money is simply put a receivable that can be used in transactions of valuable items or services over and over again based on trust. Banknotes or coins themselves are close to worthless if credibility is lacking.
