Yesterday at 8:23pm UK Time Bitcoin’s mining reward was cut in half from 12.5 to 6.25 Bitcoins per block. This only happens once every 4 years and the last 2 times it happened, the price of Bitcoin exploded by thousands of percentage points. It’s an exciting time for Bitcoin and Cryptocurrency, so much so that the BBC is taking notice and writing articles about Bitcoin.
