The US CANNOT default on its debt as its against the law to do so and I don't see members of congress going to jail for this. Don't fall for the lies. They will agree to something which is just barely above default and but not go into default per se. Republicans will cave as usual.
There is absolutely zero chance that the U.S. will not raise the debt ceiling. It's all for show and dramatic impact.
