Aside from a missing full disclosure on (y)our keys, for recovery, Ledger should have (optional firmware level) recovery features with user storage sharding to three sources or less using things like user owned One Drive, DropBox, Google Drive, thumb drives, etc. They should not have taken ownership even through third party proxies.
I don’t have any skin in the game with Voyager or Celsius but where was our man, friend of the channel, Gary Gensler protecting investors with these two and let’s not forget 3 arrows capital and FTX? Get well soon Rob!
I have 3 ledgers one of which is a nano x, I am not panicking yet. What annoys me is that I have ordered a ledger stax which is waiting for me at home and if they persist with this it is basically worthless to me because if you want to keep up to date with security etc you need to update! I really feel they need to come out with a new ledger, ledger recover for example and just leave us guys and gals who are happy with true self custody alone to be happy with their product. Newbies who feel they need this sort of recovery are welcome to it especially if it promotes adoption, i just feel once they get onto crypto they will move away from it!

Ledger is a scam. I'm transferring my crypto off my ledger asap. Super dodgy move by them.
NB. If you move to a new device set up a new wallet and send your crypto to the new address. If you restore old wallet on new device then both wallets have access which means the backdoor api hack could still be taken advantage of.

I'm glad I went with Trezor from the beginning. Trezor works very well with my other self-custody wallet. I hope he's wrong about the future user needing a recovery option, it pretty much kills the purpose of self-custody. I think being lazy will come back to bite many people in the ass.
This crap makes me want to give up on crypto.
Im opting out of Ledger and getting my coin into a new wallet asap.

He’s wrong to abandon the needs / wants/ desires of his current customer base. He’s fixing something that isn’t broken. Clearly he is adding a recurring revenue component to the prior 2 time charge.
Yeh not updating anything on Ledger now… Need to figure out what to do next. Really no good way to store crypto. Don't understand why we can't make up our own seed phrases ? Wouldn't that be best. Why generate common words ? Offline device and own personal seed phrase
this is how the wealthy do it. keep it broken up so as fraud or theft doesn't happen through temptation. break up withdraws from one too bankrupt the uber rich families. I am pretty sure they have thought through this???

When I received my brand new Ledger Nano X from Ledger, and it was covered with greasy thumb prints and a loose plastic wrapper, I knew in my heart it was a temporary solution. Moving to another temporary "solution" and so on.

Man, I love crypto videos but it gets so tiring listening to them tell us to self custody.
As long as we have the option its fine. I'll never lose my ledger. But the next billion customers, a lot of them would prob would prefer having the recovery.

You speak so badly around Ledger, specifically with self custody in general… but promote iTrustCapital. Kind of hypocritical of you. Don't get me wrong, I use iTrustCapital and have a self custody wallet(s). Sometimes there is a case for custody and/or self custody for different wallets.
