key objectives for the construction team
during quarter 1 20124 was to progress
the transmission line Construction Works
establish the mine Creek and Davidson
Creek cut off changes in this tailing
storage facility whilst progressing the
process facility Civil Works and
commence the electrical installation
works in the process facility we have
finished the clearing and we’ have
started the installation of the poles to
bring the power to the Blackwater mine
most of the electrical gear is already
on site we got Transformers ready to be
installed so it’s very exciting stage
the team has made great progress we’re
well Advanced and where we need to be at
this time of the project development
they’re problem solvers and they’re
exceptional we’ve had a lot of major
highlights for the quarter we are
currently hydrotesting our tanks we’ve
put up the gravity concentrators we’ve
put up the gravity Tower structural
steel we’ve installed the Kiln into the
ADR completed all the pre-eng steel for
the re agent building as well as putting
in the overhead crane we’ve also managed
to construct a large portion of the
conveyors placed in the feeders for the
reclaim tunnel got the ball mill shells
completed the ends on as well as getting
the pregnant solution tanks and also a
filter press installed in the Gold Room
as well in q1 we have completed the two
6040 shovels and five 713 Hall trucks
whilst maintaining the availability to
the Earthworks Fleet
we’re near completion of the CDs the wmp
is near completion the West BM is built
and we be lined next week we were able
to make huge Headway in the tsf we’ve
built the access road into the Ops Camp
the Ops Camp pad itself will be complete
here next week in the first quarter of
2024 we saw the Peak Workforce Manning
during the second quarter of this year
we expect to maintain that Manning
throughout all areas of the build what
was pleasing to see
was the team’s impressive safety record
here on site just over 1.5 million man
hours completed LTI 3 I’m proud to say
that 20% of our team here at site are
women and we’re drawing from the
community 30% come from the indigenous
communities around us and around 80% are
from within BC it’s a friendly
environment you can walk down the
hallway and you can talk to anyone it’s
a nice atmosphere we commenced
establishing the operations team here at
Blackwater and at quarter 1 we’re on
track for first GOP in H2 2024
Overall construction at the Blackwater Mine was ~73% complete at the end of Q1, 2024. The project remains fully funded, within the guidance for initial capital expenditure, and on schedule for first gold pour in the second half of 2024.
