Recently, Warren Buffett sold 40% of his stake in the gold mining company; Barrick Gold. Considering Buffett has famously been a critic of investing in gold, his original investment was a shock to many investors.

Sure, investing in a gold mining company is not exactly the same as buying gold directly. However, as the price of gold is generally the biggest factor for a gold miner, it’s fair to say this is the closest Buffett is ever likely to come to buying gold direct.

True to form, however, Buffett sold his shares shortly afterwards, which makes us ask the questions – why has Buffett sold gold? And should we sell gold too?

Therefore, in this video, I’m going to break down my research on gold, and share my thoughts on the safe haven asset.

    👋 ABOUT ME
I’m Tom. I graduated university and realised I spent 4 years studying something I wasn’t passionate about… I know, I probably should have realised a bit sooner. So I’ve spent the years since pursuing my true passion; educating people about personal finance and investing.

I’m not the best on camera but, if you can overlook that, I hope to teach you about the important skill of finance with 2 videos per week; on Tuesdays and Fridays. I hope you follow along for the journey 🙂
