I used to invest in gold and silver but now I avoid the shiny metals. Gold is a terrible investment for many reasons. It has a long track record and it’s built into many cultures… but there are better ways to maintain your purchasing power. There are also many better investing opportunities.

In a nutshell, why is gold a bad investment?… businesses pay a lot of money to dig gold ore out of the ground. They pay to refine it. Then they pay to keep it safe… all the while, it produces nothing.
