In occasion of FSR Energy Law and Policy Conference held in Brussels on the 12th of September, Christopher Jones (Part-time Professor, FSR) discussed with Florian Ermacora (Head of Unit, European Commission, DG Energy) major challenges related to the functioning of the EU energy system. In particular, the interview focused on sector coupling and the role of green and low carbon gases such as hydrogen; they also commented on competition challenges in less liquid gas markets in Europe; security of gas supply; and last but not least, the new Electricity Market design under the Recast Electricity Directive.
