Just wanted to share a tip I stumbled on. Was at the store early last week and noticed they were putting 50% off stickers on tons of produce. Asked an employee and they said they do markdowns every Tuesday morning around 7am.

Got a week's worth of vegetables for $8 yesterday. Nothing was actually bad, just had to use them within a few days instead of a week+.

Might be worth checking if your local stores have a similar schedule!

Found out my local grocery store marks down produce every Tuesday at 7am

Ive never seen clearance produce, not even at a Kroger’s chain, which marks down all kinds of things

It’s useful to know! In the UK the yellow stickers are usually out towards the end of the day, I always get the pre-cut fruit (mango, pineapple, watermelon…) which are not worth it otherwise, and often get lots of vegetables too. And prepared meals etc. They’re great if you have space in the freezer if you end up buying more than you immediately need.

Yeah, Tuesdays are also the days for discounted meat at the albertsons near me.

30% and 50% off meat like cuts of beef, pork, and chicken.

The beef is still too expensive with the discount, but the chicken is great.

I break them out of the containers anyways, repack into portions, and freeze.
