A long time ago I tracked the prices of the items I bought most frequently in a literal hard copy binder (like I said, it was a long time ago!). I'm at the point where I think I should start doing this again as there are many times I stock up on an item because it is on sale, only to realize later that the sale wasn't really that good of a deal and I should not have stocked up on the item.
How are you all tracking prices? Is there a better/easier way than my old-fashioned binder?
Best way to track prices so you know when a "sale" is a good deal?

I use Keepa
I keep a spreadsheet for Costco that checks prices but more importantly monitors the monthly sales. I believe they anniversary them so that way I’ll know when is best to restock any bulk purchases.
I also keep a tab for pet food because that’s been fluctuating so much lately that it was hard to figure out the best place to buy. I check that monthly as well.
Luckily, I have a really good memory for prices and generally know the low prices for the things I regularly buy at the supermarket (if not I’d keep a tab on that as well). I also remember getting stuck without some basics last year because summer sales were not great for certain items so I stocked up in winter/spring.
It’s amazing how much prices fluctuate, more so than the last few years. Week to week the sale item “on sale” can be dollars different.
I created an Excel spreadsheet to track prices.
