Finally convinced my girlfriend to consider cooking meals at home more instead of eating out. A nice meal of salmon, organic grain mix and broccoli for two from Trader Joe’s, all for less than $20. A Boston restaurant would’ve easily charged over $40. Hopefully we keep this trend up!

Would just like to mention that salmon and its omega 3 fatty acids are good for heart health. And good health is frugal, so there’s the tie-in to this sub.

    2. Searched this dudes other posts to see if he seems like someone who would help his girlfriend cook and got more than I bargained for

    3. There are some keys to this strategy.

Number One is to plan your meals and make weekly menus. Include meals, snacks and drinks. From this, you can make a shopping list for your supermarket visit.

    4. Yea i stopped going out during Covid of course, but now I’ve gotten really good at cooking clean great food at home (you do need to purchase the tools, like immersion blender etc.) that I actually don’t feel as good after eating out anymore…maybe too much salt, or sugars, added. Specialty things like sushi I still go out for but anything Mediterranean, North African, Indian etc. I just learned to cook at home. Follow the recipe, then adjust next time for your own version!
