Dental Help Medi-Cal
My son(15) is in severe pain from a tooth that needs a root canal. Can anyone explain how long it usually takes to get the approval for the procedure? It's been two weeks and we still haven't heard anything. I will also take any advice on helping him in the meantime. He's already finished a course of antibiotics and the ibuprofen and Tylenol aren't working anymore. TIA- a very worried Mom!

If you have dental pain or a dental emergency, contact your dental office for treatment. If you do not have a regular dentist or your dental office is closed, call the Medi-Cal Dental Customer Service Center at **1‑800‑322‑6384**, for help finding one. You can also get free transportation if there are no dental offices open in your area.
It sounds like you have a dentist already, but call the Customer Service Center and talk to someone about your situation. They might be able to expedite something.
