There is a lot of nonsense & bot activity on this forum. I am doing this because starting, growing & selling a business is not easy. I want to have a real, honest discussion about my experience, the highs, the lows, and much more on this post. Ask me anything, I will be genuine with you.
I will not promote myself or my business. For anything that even borders on this, please DM me.
I just sold my agency for $3.3 million. It took me 6 years. It was incredibly difficult. It has changed my life. AMA!

What services did you offer at your agency What internal marketing helped you breakthrough as an agency?
Congratulations! Can you just give the narrative?
Did you run into any key man risk when looking for a buyer? How did you overcome that?
Congrats , how did you find your buyers? Did they approach you or were you seeking a sale?
Was was your revenue / profit ?
What were the actual terms of the sale (how much cash up front vs stock vs whatever else)
What were your core channels for client acquisition? Your CAC? Would you expect that would still work today?
What did your annual revenue growth look like?
How did you and your buyer get connected? Did you immediately exit, or were you retained for time after the sale?
Like others have said. Give us the narrative. Numbers year over year, revenue vs net etc
How many employees? What was your niche?
How did you get to the 3.3 mill valuation! How much are you gonna be taxed on this?
Congrats on the sale!
What were top line sales and margin? How many clients? How did you link with the buyer?
How did you get your first 10 clients ?
What were the marketing channels / angles etc? Thanks for sharing
What was your revenue to sell at 3.3
What type of service did you find easier to manage scale and offer good results? What type of service would you like to have focused more and why?
When you were at your lowest, what did you do to overcome it? (I’m in the business)
I’ve tried everything from cold calling to networking events.
Did you start on your own? How did you scale ads? Cold outreach? Or something else
Do you feel your over capitalized at the start?
Hi thanks for taking the time to share!
– What was the day-to-day in the very beginning like?
– what were some of the very first gigs and how did they go?
First of all, Congratulations!
I’m coming up on owning a company and have now found myself in the role of sales and marketing
I like people and genuinely care about them so it seems it should be a natural fit. But so much of the marketing industry has turned cheesy, overused, and some just straight up cringe.
Any advice on how to get comfortable with it? Just feels out of character
I just launched a digital agency this month. I’ve been in the biz for 15+ years so I’m not worried about doing the work. I’m struggling with how to charge a client a fair price but also for my experience and expertise I’m bringing to their company. I don’t want to leave money on the table. I also want to focus more on MMR and provide retainer type services. Any tricks for pricing you’ve found? Also what was your averages for MMR for services you provided. Thanks in advance!
How did you go about actually selling? Was 3.3 the sell price or take home? Where did you put it upon selling? Asking because I wonder how one might deal with a large influx of cash is not used to that
“Wants to have an honest discussion.” Doesn’t participate in said discussion. 😑
