I was rear ended this morning. I think it is drivable (I drove it home,) but it may have wobbly back wheels now? It might not; waiting to have it looked at. It's a 2002 Ford ZX2. I'm trying to figure out if I should make a claim on it? I'm pretty sure it isn't worth the cost to repair it even if the back wheels are fine. The Kelley Blue book value is abysmal (250 or less.)
The insurance agent said that I would need to pay some deductible, they would inspect the car and all of that, and then decide what to pay on damages or totalling it and all that. I asked if it would affect my insurance cost if I am not at fault, but either she didn't understand what I was asking or didn't want to tell me.
I'm trying to decide if it is worth doing the claim or not since I'm likely not to get anything to fix the car, and it will possibly just cost me more money out of pocket now and possibly monthly for insurance. I thought I could just report the damage so that it is on the record of the car or whatever, but she said no I would have to make a claim to do that.
Rear ended, car isn't worth much

If you were rear ended, why would you have to pay deductible? Did the other driver not have insurance?
If you file on the at fault persons policy there is no deductible. Kelley Blue book is not a good source to find values though. Look to see what they might be selling for on your area.
Why in the world are you carrying collision coverage on a car worth only $250?? Depending on your deductible, you’d at best get only a hundred or so bucks or more likely, nothing at all.
