My car was totaled in an accident and State Farm had me send them my title via ups. UPS lost it (going overnight). What happens next? I’m waiting to hear back but hope I don’t need to wait for a new title

Discuss with the adjuster. Perhaps you can sign a power of attorney document for your title that would allow the insurer to make the changes they need.
You can just order a replacement title and send it again.
It’s a pain. Hopefully it shows up. You might need to get a duplicate title to send in. Usually if they believe you have requested it and will send it they will release funds but they don’t want to pay you and have you ghost them.
Depends on the state. Some states you absolutely have to have the title. Other states they can use a power of attorney and handle getting the title. So you are going to have to talk with the adjuster.
