It wasn't a horrific amount. Though it's been sitting there for a decade plus. I finally got a hold of my finances this year and have been aggressively paying things off/building my retirement.
It was like this itch I couldn't scratch. Constantly on this subreddit and checking edfinancial. Daily. Compulsively.
It's putting me at a slight risk, as I took some of my Emergency Savings out to do the damn thing.
But I don't care. After a ~$400 loan gets paid off, I will be debt free. And to say I owe nobody anything, and that my present and future effort is done solely for me and mine. That is where the deep sighs come in.
That's why I'm writing this post. Keep going, y'all. Appreciate everyone's content on here.
Made the final payment today.

Congratulations, the future is bright! Make sure you take some time to bask in this LARGE life accomplishment. Many of us, myself included, are working on getting there, and posts like these remind me that there’s light at the end of the tunnel. Woohoo!
Congratulations! Your emergency fund no longer has to account for student loan payments so it will be easier to build it to where you want it to be.
