I just released a deep Shopify Store Design Tutorial. It’s over 2 hours long. I applied my nearly 10 years in design, copywriting and marketing. To make it as valuable as possible and made it completely free on Youtube. Here’s why.

Hey guys so today I just released a 2 (nearly 3) hour deep dive into Shopify homepage design for free on Youtube. And thought it may be worth mentioning here for fellow entrepreneurs who may have and be considering starting a Shopify store. If this doesn't sit well with mods so be it and remove it 🙂
But if it does stay here's a bit of an overview.

A quick little back story. I have nearly 10 years experience in web design as well as copywriting and marketing both working for others and with my own clients. For both WordPress and Shopify. Not too long ago I released a 7 hour "Ultimate Shopify tutorial" after deciding it was time I started sharing some of my knowledge with the world.

At first it was just an idea then I began seeing the other Shopify tutorials out there and was actually a little annoyed at how simple they made it seem for the average person. "Just 20 minutes and you will have a million dollar store like me" it didn't sit well with me.

So I ended up creating a 7 hour tutorial. Which I shared here and ended up getting amazing reception for. One of the commenters on the video suggest I broke up the tutorial into smaller chunks so people could easily digest specific parts and refer back to them with ease.

One of those parts is the deep design portion. Here I go into deep design for a Shopify store home page. Most (pretty much all) tutorials just show people how to make a extremely basic design using Shopifies native builder. Personally I think the Shopify Native builder sucks and never use it for clients. Its far too basic and clunky.

Instead I use a page builder called "Gempages" which as a designer myself I can say is absolutely phenomenal for design. Like 10x or even 100x what you could ever do with Shopify native builder. And there is yet very few people showing how to use it. At least not well.

And the cool thing is its completely free for one page. Which means you can use it for your home page which is arguably on of the most important pages of your store. As its the first impression people get of you.

Yet I see many treating their homepage with little care and just having mock basic, poor and confusing designs with basic copy and wondering why they aren't making any sales.

And so that's what I have done with this tutorial. Its over 2 hours but I go deep into design and using the app.

Teaching people how to:

– Use pre-built sections to mix and match and make your own design (gem pages has lots of fantastic pre-built designs you can plug and play and mix and match once you know what you are doing)

– How to build an entire premium home page design from scratch ( I made the design myself then walk people through how to remake it section by section step by step)

– How to use Chatgpt to easily replicate winning copy or in the case of the video a copy formula I already came up with and how they can easily just replicate it using chatgpt "screenshot method" (as I call it)

– How to create a professional looking "collections section" that allow you to segment and link your collections in a visually appealing way

– Create a powerful looking social media section, testimonials, products and even an email opt in

– How to make the entire design mobile responsive

– How to create Customised Pages i.e about, contact, FAQ etc

– Plus also give tips on branding, UX, copywriting and design layout

Essentially I wanted to give as much value as I possibly could. Which is why it ended up being over 2 hours but by the end people walk away with a deep understanding of using the Gempages builder (which is a powerful skill in and of itself) as well as a better understand of branding, design and copywriting.
