I wanna start options trading and only want to start with Cash Secure Puts and Cover calls.

    What are the most valuable lessons you have learned in this journey where you think you should have understood far earlier in your options trading.

    I’m in the stock market simply 2022 and was only buying and holding shares.

      “Buy low, sell high” applies to options too. If you’re going to sell, try to aim for point where the option’s price is high. Yes, it’s obvious advice, but it’s important to keep it in mind. Option prices are quite volatile, and timing can dramatically affect your returns.

      Consider the $175 put for NVDA expiring on Friday. 30 days ago it was going for $10. Between then and now, it has gone as high as $13 and as low as $3. It’ll be even less tomorrow when market opens, because NVDA is right around $175, the IV will be ‘crushed’ by earnings release, and it’s about to expire.
