Help! I don’t get it. I was switched back to PAYE in July. They said I had to restart paying in August. Mohela still has me in a forbearance for some reason. They emailed me 8-15 and said they put in a request to remove the forbearance. Crickets. Mohela says my next payment due is 9/14, but also says no payment due as I am in forbearance. Students.gov says my next payment is due in Nov. 2025. What do I do?! Do I make a payment? How much? How do I get out of forbearance. November is when I hit 120, so I want this over with, but I need to actually make payments to hit that number. Anyone else get switched to a repayment plan other than SAVE but still showing forbearance???

I would make payments as if I was in repayment if making payments is your goal, and do this while getting the forbearance issue resolved.

    2. It sounds like you got “stuck” on the SAVE forbearance when then should have removed it if you were placed on PAYE. Make sure PAYE is actually showing on your account and keep on Mohela about having the forbearance removed.

    3. I am having this exact same issue, but with Aidvantage. The payment I made in August was also deemed ineligible to count towards PSLF because I’m apparently in forbearance, despite having switched from SAVE to PAYE in July. 🙃
