I have several single-family home rental properties and I get 10 to 15 cold calls a day. I block every single one of them afterwards and my blocked number list has to be over 4000 numbers.
We have a member of our family, awaiting an organ transplant, and don’t have the luxury to not answer every single call.
Not only that, they call other members of our family and even distant cousins and former coworkers asking about us. I don’t think they realize what a big turn off it is and I would never do business with people like that… most of these people they are calling don’t even know we have rental properties as it is none of their business.
I have changed my number twice and they call the new number as well.
How do I get off your list and everyone else else’s?
Quit calling me

Tell them you’re a buyer. Seems to work for me
Is your personal name listed on your property? Change that. It’s much harder to find a number of a LLC or Trust (or whatever) that has no website or online presence.
I completely feel this. Double digit properties where record owner address (me) is not the property address means I come up on all the databases. Blocking does no good because numbers from offshore call centers all spoof the area codes where properties are located.
I haven’t answered a phone call from anyone not in my contacts for over three years…and that’s WITH Google voice as my most public number running screening. Inbound phone calls are pretty much not a thing.
Will the transplant folks leave a message? If so, transcription would let you reply ASAP.
Time to start suing them. Look up the TCPA. I have sued or threatened to sue a few and it resulted in some settlements
Stay on the phone long enough to find out who they actually are- people calling is usually a call center.
Once you get their actual info if your on the do not call list report them and they will get fined. This has cut down a lot of people for me
I’m a real estate agent and I get those calls sometimes two or three times a day. I think they’re all different investors. They are not real estate agents that are calling. You can keep them on the line all you want you can find out who they are. I don’t think you’ll stop the calls.
Cost of doing business. Just move on.
I have 3 single family home rental properties and my house that I live in. I get calls and mails in the actual mailbox for all 4 properties lol. Some of these realtors must be desperate they are just randomly calling and sending letters to anybody.
Ask for their website and location.
Then leave them bad reviews. Problem solved!
They probably outsourced foreign people who hired by wholesaler or investors trying to buy properties.
We still get call from houses we sold many moons ago. It’s so annoying.
I’m gonna call you
I have my phone set to not allow notifications of calls from unknown numbers. They can still call and leave a message but I can quickly scan the voicemail to text and see it’s spam. Have all your renters in your contacts so they can get through. Problem solved.
I change my number every few years.
I asked one once how they got my number since they wanted to buy my mom’s house from me. Despite the fact she’s alive.
Apparently my number is associated with the house on tax records. Which makes sense. I’m an only child. So it’ll be mine one day (hopefully a long time from now), but damn those calls are annoying.
I tell these people I’ll sell the house but then I quote a price that is 3x more than it’s worth.
Wanna pay me 1.5 mil for a 500k house. OK deal. Otherwise, bye bye.
I started getting these calls after my local government basically forced me to register my rental house. Louisville KY. I figured it’s a money grab by them so they can sell my information to these people or at least put me on a list where my number can be found.
It’s not hard to identify them as a call solicitor but making them stop calling is answer I still can’t find. I end the call with. No, don’t call me ever again. But a new number starts that process all over again.
I was on my roof working on my roof and a guy drives by in a really crappy car and says he buys houses, wants to know if I’m really the owner.
Nope not interested.
