EDIT TO STATE THIS MORE CLEARLY: I was charged interest for the entire duration of SAVE, what can I do?
My loans have been in administrative forbearance since 2023 as I wait for a decision on my borrowers defense claim. I just saw thousands of dollars in interest hit my account and aidvantage is saying since I was already on the admin forbearance for borrowers defense, the SAVE 0% interest doesn't apply to me and I owe interest for that whole time period. Seems a bit unfair, like they're cherry picking the terms that are most advantageous for them. Thoughts?
aidvantage charging me interest during SAVE forebearance – is this ok?

YUP they sent emails about this ahead of time.
I *just* made a post about the email response I got from them today about where I can view how much interest I’m being charged each month.
It’s a RIOT. SUPER funny hilarious timeline we’re in here. 2025 is the first year of my life I absolutely regret ever getting a college education.
Maybe I’m misunderstanding your post, but SAVE 0% interest ended August 1st for everyone. Since that day, everyone has been getting charged interest during the forbearance.
I’ve seen a few people in similar situations post here and unfortunately, I think the answer was that other types of forbearances or deferments overrode the SAVE forbearance. So if you were on a forbearance for borrower’s defense, that likely took precedence over the SAVE forbearance. I’m not 100% sure on that, but that’s what I remember seeing.
FYI if this isn’t resolved try filing a compliant with your state attorney’s general office, that has been known to work for some people.
