My money is on deflection. They will say something along the lines of “the EO law allows tariffs and its not our job to decide wether the emergency the EO is justified with is actually an emergency or not”
So, tariffs will stay.
SCOTUS is a joke. It’s a bunch of paid actors at the point. They’ve made America a joke. Other countries look at us like a banana republic.
I’m really not sure how this plays out.
On one hand you have SCOTUS that will bend over backwards for Trump and let this happen.
On the other, you have trumps advisors buying up the rights to potential tariff returns for Pennie’s on the dollar.
No one overseas is willing to send goods to the US at this point. The payment and collection of the tariffs are a mess, and it’s simply too risky. Maybe by November we’ll be experiencing enough pain.
