I have had close to $20k in interest added during the SAVE forbearance to my loan balance. I have tried numerous times to contact MOHELA and my reps to no avail. I also tried my state Attorney General, and here was their response:

“Thank you for taking the time to submit your complaint to the Arizona Attorney General's Office. We have made
numerous attempts to contact the opposing party, but were not able to obtain a response. If we receive a response at a
later date, we will re-open your file and forward the response to you.
Our Office represents the State of Arizona and is simply prohibited by law from representing individual consumers.
The Attorney General's Office however, does bring cases against businesses that violate Arizona consumer protection
statutes. That is why the information in your complaint is so valuable – it assists this office in identifying and tracking a
possible pattern of illegal conduct that could warrant future action. If that were to occur, your complaint is on file and
    will be reviewed again.
If you decide to hire an attorney and pursue this case on your own, here are some helpful Arizona resources to assist
    in your search:
    who qualify.

Apache and Navajo Counties) at www.sazlegalaid.org or (520) 623-9465).
DNA People’s Legal Services (Coconino County, and the Navajo Nation in the Northern Half of Navajo & Apache
    Counties) at www.DNALegalServices.org or (928) 774-0653.
Additional resources are available at www.211arizona.org. Select “Legal Assistance” and then “legal aid” on the menu and
search by the county where you reside. Or, you can call by dialing “211” or 1-877-211-8661.
AZ Bar Foundation at www.azlawhelp.org or 1-866-637-5341, to obtain a referral or find free or reduced legal aid for those
You may also consider filing an action on your own, through your local court system. Thank you for taking the time to
    file your complaint.
    Sincerely,
    Consumer Information and Complaints”

Working on PSLF so at this point I feel like I need to just wait this out and make payments when I need to. How MOHELA can just not respond to our state AG and ignore us is beyond me.

My state AG couldn’t even get a response from MOHELA

    1. I had the same issue with Mohela and managed to get a response using the Better Business Bureau within the past week. They responded but didn’t correct the errors on my account “we’ll audit your interest accumulation but have no timeline for when this will happen.” I think millions of borrowers must be in the same boat. My plan is to request a different loan servicer – I hope it works.
