I run a B2C/B2B2C startup. Market is big enough for both, but I see my competitor spend a lot on marketing. They get views, reactions, it kinda works for them.
Our product is free (I want to keep it free), I think they will go freemium later. I focus more on making product scalable and building ambassadors (governments, big brands co-branding). Looking for our market fit. My idea was that scaling comes later, but maybe I’m wrong.
Should I already push more on visibility in B2C or keep focus where I am?
Competitor spends big on marketing, should I care already?

I’ve seen a lot of businesses panic when a competitor spends big on marketing, but spending ≠ winning. Sometimes it just means they’re burning cash faster.
The real question is whether your numbers support it. If your CAC/LTV isn’t clear yet, pushing B2C visibility too soon could just drain resources. Building partnerships and ambassadors (especially with governments/brands) is a smart play because it compounds over time.
As someone who handles finances for startups and small businesses, I always remind clients: marketing should scale with clean books and cash flow visibility. Otherwise, you risk copying competitors without knowing if *you* can sustain it.
In my perspective, as I’m focusing on b2b for the majority , it’s good that you are doing it for free , run ads engagement once , build credibility and reputation very important

you definitely want to focus on ways to scale your business now instead of later, rmember speed is important factor in business and the more you scale now the cheaper overall overtime it will be and an easier time you will have getting noticed, If you want help in this arena you cna dm me and i’ll give you a solid idea on where to go next with your business
