A year or so ago I had asked about my Citi Premier card points cause I wasn't seeing the cash back or statement credit options on their rewards page. I had originally got this card because I could get cash back (statement credit or whatever) at the rate of 1 point = 1 cent. The commenter in my old post even assured me of that.

Now I'm going to finally cash in my points and in the cash back section I see that my 81964 points are only worth $614.73, not the $819.64 I would have expected.

Did something change? Is there a different way I should be doing this to get the full value?

    Thanks for any help

I thought my Citi points were worth 1 cent but now it's showing less when trying to do cash back

    1. Either transfer to partners, get gift cards, or open a Double Cash or Custom Cash to elevate the rewards to 1 cpp

    2. Yep! That’s what “Shitti” bank does. Just pulls the rug from Citi Strata Premier “F” CSP-F

    3. I have always struggled with credit cards with points as the rewards currency. There is a lot of room for point devaluing!

Sorry to hear shitibank devalued their points. I may need to reconsider opening a card with them.

    4. It’s old news. They announced the nerf a while back. It’s easy to get around it. You can get a Double Cash or Custom Cash card, but you have to link it to your Strata Premier so they share the same ThankYou points. You can ask Citi (if you’re lucky enough to get a good customer service rep) or you can do it yourself. Mark Reese did a video of that a few months ago.
